Who runs Leadership Journey?

Andrew Jones is a leadership development professional with more than a decade of experience developing corporate leaders, and a unique approach to developing authentic leaders by taking them outside their cultural context.

The founder of Leadership Journey, Andrew's own rather unique leadership and cultural journey began as a boy growing up in the remotest parts of Africa. Born to Australian parents working in aid and development in West Africa, his early childhood was spent in a small village of the Boko tribe in northern Benin.  He completed his primary education at a small multicultural school with students from a myriad of countries. Andrew's family returned to Australia for his high school education where he was enrolled at Scotch College in Melbourne, one of Australia’s elite private schools and a ‘world away’ from life in sub-Saharan Africa. It was during these formative years that Andrew began to learn about the complexities of world history and the diversity of worldviews that have shaped human experience and continue to bear influence today.

At University, Andrew studied geo-politics and international organisations of influence like the United Nations, World Bank and International Monetary Fund, thus furthering his understanding of the broad political and economic forces shaping our planet today. After completing a Bachelor of Arts, Andrew went on to study ethics and religious worldviews, culminating in a Bachelor of Theology. Following several years in local church leadership, Andrew joined an international not-for-profit organisation training leaders in Australia and overseas.

He later transferred this experience and expertise to the corporate sector, initially developing an Innovative Leadership Program for Medibank Private and for the past eight years working as a Principal Consultant for risk, leadership, performance and human resources consulting firm ResolutionsRTK, providing leadership development facilitation and strategic consulting services to a range of organisations in the corporate, government and not-for-profit sectors. Andrew still consults on a part-time basis for ResolutionsRTK.
