Growth & Advocacy

Any worthwhile development program is ultimately judged by the outcomes and the personal behavioural shifts that take place in the following weeks and months.
It is recommended that a monthly group coaching  mechanism is applied in the 3-6 month period following the overseas Journey experience. This is not an onerous expectation, but an opportunity for participants to reflect on new perspectives and innovative approaches to their work that have emerged as a result of the leadership program.

If participants have engaged in a pre-Journey behavioural measure then the post-Journey phase will be an opportunity to develop a personal leadership plan to implement their learning and increased self-awareness.

The Advocacy phase will give the group an arena to develop a communication strategy, do some public speaking, build new relationships and network within the organisation to inspire colleagues to support the project they have visited.

In order to maintain a win/win for all parties involved in a Leadership Journey there is an expectation that Leadership Journey participants will 'Champion' the project they have just visited. Their task, designed to embed their learning, will be to advocate for the community by raising awareness and a pre-agreed sum of money to be donated to the project. 100% of these funds will go directly to the NGO partner that manages the project. We recommend a target of ~$20,000 per group.
